Graphic design is my passion*
No, really. Sort of? For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved making things look nice and work efficiently.
I’m not going to tell you how many times I had to upload files (via dial-up) to build my first hand-coded website, but I was determined to make all those interlaced .pngs work together. I built my first blog in Perl, just to see if I could. Since then, I’ve become proficient in WordPress, comfortable with CSS, and learned to make graphics (correctly!)
I’ve transformed a hobby into a marketing career – with all the expected skills that come along with it: strategic planning, managing budgets, and creating materials of all types.
But wait – there’s more! Whether it’s producing a weekly podcast (or three), planning a perfect event, designing a pitch deck, or creating a suite of medals for a race series – I’ve probably done it.
Not to mention all the other things it takes to make a large event or small business run – like selecting and integrating software, maintaining a tidy database, managing subcontractors, and selecting the perfect swag.
I’m happily in-house, but still make time for some freelance work. I love working with emerging businesses and personal brands on design and web projects. I also have extensive experience with providing managed hosting and support for non-profits and PTAs.

* true story – before my design career, I had an office job that involved formatting documents for clients. Our logo was Bank Gothic. I was ordered to pair it with Papyrus. It’s a miracle I’m still here.
